Auckland | Tāmaki Makaurau

Tāmaki Makaurau, the Māori name for Auckland, translates to ‘Tāmaki, desired by many’. This refers to the region’s wealth of natural resources and prime trade routes which first attracted Māori and other settlers. It is also known for its unique volcanic landscape and long history of use and occupation by tāngata whenua (local people).

Fast forward to the present day, and Auckland still stands as a prime location for business and/or pleasure. With everything from stellar dining to world-class shopping and unique cultural experiences, Tāmaki Makaurau is a world of possibilities, all in one place.
