Congratulations to NZ Māori Tourism Board member Toro Waaka, who was not only re-elected in the recent NZ Māori Tourism Board elections, but was also appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2017 NZ Queen's Birthday Honours. Toro is recognised for his services to Māori and the community. Ka mau te wehi e hoa mō to mahi maha mō ngāi tāua te iwi Māori me te hapori whānui. He toki koe!
It seems as though the quiet season for operators is getting shorter each year, as there are many workshops, seminars, conferences, education and networking events held around the country during this time. NZ Māori Tourism try to get to as many of these as possible to support the kaupapa and take the opportunity to catch up with many of you.
We are working on ways we can collate the relevant information from these events to make available on our website, and through NewsLine. It's one of many things on our to-do list that seems to grow longer each day (I'm sure many of you can relate!)
